Little 500 Alumni Races
A new tradition of holding alumni races was started in 2000 at the 50 th running of the Little 500. Alumni from each decade were grouped together for a 10-lap winner take all format. Over 100 alumni riders participated and really impressed undergraduate riders with their speed and track savvy. Theta Chi was well represented that first year. After such a successful start, race officials decided to hold these same races every five years to give alumni a chance to come back and show their stuff.
The second set of alumni races took place on April 16 th 2005 and Theta Chi came away with some gold. Read the rest of the story and see photos from the race.
In April 2010, you will have another chance to come and show your stuff. Start getting in shape now!!! The alumni race will precede the undergraduate race and there will be an additional event at the DeVault Alumni Center following the activities at the track. Past All Star rider Chuck Taylor lives in Bloomington and is the key contact for these events. You can contact him at taylorbike@comcast.net.
JOLLY OX still going...
In 1974 a group of Alpha Iota's gathered at the Jolly OX
restaurant on Keystone Avenue in Indianapolis on their way home from
school the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. Little did we know

this year. Over the years the conversation has moved from our marriages
to our children's marriages, but once we get through the first round
of chicken wings, we might as well be back in the chapter house living
room... Read the full story here.
A
group of Brothers get together each year and ride the HILLY HUNDRED
in Bloomington, IN and the surrounding area. It is a 50-mile ride
on Saturday and Sunday, which typically attracts 5,000+ riders. There
is food and entertainment throughout the ride. It is typically the
first or second weekend in October when southern Indiana is particularly
beautiful.
