Homecoming

It was a typical fall day in Bloomington with the colorful trees, cool breeze, and bright sunlight welcoming our Hoosiers and the Iowa Hawkeyees to the gridiron.  Our boys dug themselves a deep hole with a 17-point deficit in the first half.  Despite a third quarter comeback, Iowa slammed the door with another second half score, which resulted in a 24-8 loss; spoiling Homecoming for many loyal alumni.

The loss, however, did not spoil our Alpha Iota Alumni tailgate.  With nearly 40 attending, Event Chairman Tom Knox ‘77 had his hands full preparing bratwurst, barbeque chicken, and all the fixings for the throng.  With an 11AM game starting time, our tailgate got rolling at half time, continued throughout the second half, and the last diehards pulled out at 6PM.  The day was filled with fellowship, fun, food, and Fraternity.

The Man Miles award went to Brother Jack Francis ‘62 who traveled from Connecticut with his fiancée Brenda Honovich to be with us.  Brother Jim McClusky  ’54 brought some pictures from the 50’s, including a picture of the house from Homecoming 1950.  Don’t be surprised if you see them soon on this web site.  Several alumni caught up on the news of the Chapter and plans for our return.

We hope everyone enjoyed the day and look forward to doing this again next year!!
