7th Annual Golf Outing Set Many Records

Always scheduled for the last Saturday in July at the Golf Club of Indiana in Zionsville, a record crowd of more than seventy Brothers from five decades gathered to enjoy one of the best weather days we have had for the event. As a result, the winning team of Roe Jones '94, Tate Schuetz '95, Brian Farmer '94, and Mike Dodson '95 set a new tournament record net score of 59 for the scramble format. The event also generated $1,200 for the Alpha Iota Educational Foundation, which provides undergraduate scholarships and is the beneficiary of the tournament proceeds.

Special thanks go to Bob Thorgren '74, Harry Fox '80, and Bill Maniacalco '91 for sponsoring the refreshment carts. Additional "above and beyond" Kudos go to Bob Thorgren for providing Theta Chi cups to all participants from his company in Valparaiso, Indiana, Thorgren Tool & Die, one of the largest specialty molding companies in the country.

The round of golf was followed by a barbecue dinner, which provided ample time to for fellowship, discussion on the status of the chapter house, and the plans for restarting the chapter in January 2005. Brother Shawn Mulholland '87 also announced plans to kick off a capital campaign in the next couple of months aimed at reducing the mortgage on the chapter house, providing scholarships for undergraduates, and supporting the chapters return.

Once again Tom Bertellotti served as tournament chairman and deserves our appreciation for running such a wonderful event.

Next years event is already scheduled for July 30th, please mark your calendars now and plan to attend. If you are interested in helping with the event, please email us at: thetachi@alumni.indiana.edu.
